They are actually more difficult to care for (as long as you try to do everything right by them) than tropicals. They need a larger tank and more attention paid to maintaining water quality, yet it seems many people don’t realize that until the goldfish are home and start to do badly. And the fancy goldfish aren’t cheap either. Why do so many people start with a relatively difficult fish?

Simple… They dont do research…

My boyfriend and I are looking for a hobby we can do indoors when the weather isn’t so good.
I really like artsy stuff such as scrap-booking, knitting, etc. I also enjoy reading and puzzles. He however does not have the patients for any of that, and doesn’t like to read. He’s into electronics and gadgets. Any ideas or what we would both enjoy doing?

IF he likes making things with his hands… You do, too…. You can look into woodworking or even costuming.
Woodworking he can build items. You can help assemble and build as well or even paint them or dectorate them. He can decorate them as well.
Leatherworking is becoming a fav of gents out there, too. It’s something you both can get into. Living Historians are always looking for folks crafty and talented enough to make them particular items. Some people just make their own leather pieces.
Costuming.
This is a WIDE range of a whatever-you-want.
It can be any movie, TV, anime, etc… Hell, even yo’r own imagination or something historical.
Some outfits may require metal, some leather, or something else. Guaranteed though you are kept busy.
Another part of costuming is a rising popularity into Steampunk. Generally it’s a “what if” of electronics and any sort of gadget from today was made and had during the late 19th and very early 20th century. Think Jules Verne and H.G. Wells type of stories.
Those are some ides… And a start.
