Its not that the tree house is illegal to be built by the builder. The problem is that for every structure/house/garage/appartment..and tree house…A builder has to follow the local building codes. If he doesn’t then he can get in some serious trouble. Especially if the builder builds something and doesn’t follow the codes, and someone gets hurt.

Thats why most builders won’t even bother building a tree house. There aren’t codes for those types of structures in most places. So if a builder builds a tree house, and some kid goes and gets hurt playing in it. The builder is responsible. I don’t know of many builders willing to take that risk.
